your leche service order: tips for success

  • Once you’ve placed your order, you will receive all of the materials you need to get your frozen breast milk safely to Leche. This includes: a custom Leche insulated cooler, return shipping box, 3 ice bricks, 1 roll of packing tape, 1 custom breast milk storage bag and a pre-paid shipping label.
  • Open the cooler lid and set aside all of the items. Place the ice bricks in the freezer for at least 48 hours prior to shipment.

  • After your ice bricks are frozen, you can begin the packing process. Select 12-15 frozen breast milk bags to send. Ensure EACH bag is clearly labeled with your NAME, DATE and OUNCES. Do this in permanent marker.
  • Lay the large storage bag flat. Fill out each line on the front of the bag in permanent marker. Sign your name in the pink box. Unsigned bags will NOT be processed.
  • Once your storage bag is completely filled out, place your frozen breast milk bags inside. There is NO limit to the number of bags you can include, just a maximum of 75 ounces allowed in total. Seal the storage bag tightly to ensure it is securely closed. Do NOT remove the spout tear notch.
  • Place the storage bag flat at the bottom of the cooler with the text facing up. Place your 3 frozen ice bricks on top of your storage bag. Cover the ice bricks with the cooler lid and press down firmly to fully seal the cooler.
  • Place the cooler in the shipping box and secure the box using the Leche packing tape.Use as much tape as you need to secure each edge of the box.
  • Take the prepaid shipping label, remove the back sticker and place it on top of the box. It's time to ship your package with FedEx. Leche requires that your package be shipped Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to ensure it is received during normal business hours.
  • Your breast milk is now headed to Leche! We’ll keep your milk frozen until it's ready for processing. Once processed, you will receive your shelf-stable Leche in our convenient packaging.
  • We can’t wait to hear about your experience. Share your story with the Leche community @itsmyleche
